There are about 85 German companies operating in Nigeria which provide no fewer than 10,000 direct jobs, a delegate of the German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria, Dr. Marc Lucassen, has said.
The companies collectively make $1 billion annually, Lucassen said, adding that there are plans to scale up the presence of the German companies in Nigeria.
He stated this, yesterday, while briefing newsmen on the 7th edition of the German-Nigerian business forum holding on 20th and 21st June 2018 in Lagos with the theme, ‘Leveraging Partnership for Economic Growth’.
Lucassen explained that the trade volume between Nigeria and Germany has continued to grow, saying, “Nigeria is one of the few countries with good trade balance with Germany.”
He however called on the government to provide a more conducive environment for businesses to grow.
