Francis Cardinal Arinze Charges Students To Uphold Moral Values

Graduates and under graduates of Nigerian Universities have been charged to allow the cardinal virtues of prudence, Justice and fortitude play vital role in their lives.


The Emeritus Prefect, Congregation for Divine Worship and Discipline of the Sacrament at the Vatican City Rome, Francis Cardinal Arinze gave the charge while addressing the students of the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University at its Igbariam Campus.

While speaking on the topic, “Graduates with robust values”, Cardinal Arinze explained that a graduate with high values is incorruptible ,noting that such graduate follows his conscience and cannot be bought over and at the same time, does not try to corrupt anyone.

He commended the University authority for its efforts to impact knowledge, research principles and formation ideals on the students and prayed God to bless them abundantly.

Reacting to the lecture, a University Don, Professor Boniface Obiefuna, said that it is always interesting to listen to people who have the knowledge, experience and the interest of the society at heart.

Responding, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Fidelis Okafor, extolled Francis Cardinal Arinze for the lecture, promising to make copies of the lecture available to the students to enable them take time to digest it.
